About Sarah

Sarah Paulson is a graduate of San Jose State University (2002) with a master’s degree in Speech Pathology. She has ten years of experience in Speech Therapy. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.

 

Sarah’s clinical experience includes the following: children with articulation delays; apraxia of speech; Asperger’s; high functioning autism; low functioning autism; receptive and expressive language delay; CAPD (central auditory processing disorder); selective mutism; fluency (stuttering); oral motor delays; feeding challenges; AAC devices (alternative augmentative communication); and conducting social groups/camps.

 

From 2004-2006, Sarah served on the board for the Santa Clara County Speech and Hearing Association and was very active in the organization.

 

In 2006, Sarah participated in a mentor program designed by Michelle Garcia Winner and her clinicians at Center for Social Thinking in San Jose, CA. Sarah has attended numerous workshops and conferences on Michelle’s “social thinking” curriculum. She currently is running a few social groups in her Aptos office.

 

Sarah established her private practice, ‘Kids Connecting, A Speech, Language, and Social Learning Company’, in San Jose, CA, in 2007 and expanded to Aptos, CA, in 2010. She continues to collaborate with occupational therapists and clinical psychologists in both offices.

 

December 2011, Sarah also attended a workshop on “S.O.S. Approach to Feeding Conference: Picky Eaters vs. Problem Feeders.”

 

Currently, Sarah is attending The New One-year Certificate Program in the
Developmental, Individual Differences, Relationship-based Intervention (DIR®) a
nd the Foundational Capacities for Development (FCD)Model.
